Play Panel.mp4

Dice can be rolled in any Game Room either through the Play Panel in the Dice Roller or by adding Custom Dice Pools to your Sheet.

Where is the Dice Roller located on Role?

Access the play panel on the left-hand side of your screen by selecting the Dice Roller, identified by the d20 icon.

Once the Dice Roller is open, select the dice you would like to roll. If you are casting Blight as a Level 8 Sorcerer in Dungeons & Dragons, you would roll 8d8 and click the d8 button 8 times, and then add any additional buffs or modifiers you may have.

Alternatively, you could embed a spell group on your sorcerer Sheet that has a Dice Pool of 8d8 and have any buffs you have linked to it automatically by using the Sheet Builder to Edit your Sheet.

How to use the Dice Roller on Role

The Dice Roller on the Role platform offers a couple of features. Let’s go through them now:

  1. Add Ref - You can create a reference value (some games refer to this as a Challenge Rating or Difficulty Challenge). This can be done manually here, or automatically from a sheet.
  2. Dice Tray - Any dice rolled will display here. Clicking an individual result will re-roll it, while clicking the icon below it will remove that result.
  3. Add Buff - You can create a buff value here, which will be added to your total result. This can be done manually here, or automatically from a sheet.
  4. Show Total - Toggle this on to show the final result, both to yourself and the room
  5. Private Toggle - Toggle this on to hide all rolls and results from the room
  6. Auto Clear - After a roll is completed, and you start adding new dice to the Dice Tray, clear the previous result
  7. Dice Colors - Choose 1 of 7 color options that will apply to the next dice you choose from the Dice Roller. This can be done manually here, and Dice Pools in a sheet can also have colors assigned to them as well
  8. Dice Roller (Polyhedrals) - Clicking these will add individual dice to the Dice Tray to be rolled. Any color selected will also be visible here
  9. Fate Die Roller - Clicking this will add an individual Fate Die to the Dice Tray. Any color selected will also be visible here
  10. Cards - Clicking this will open the Card Tray.

Dice Rolling in Sheets

Untitled

By using the Dice Pool Gameplay Element in the Element Library, you can create a Dice Pool consisting of a type of die. This is seen inside the gradient hexagon.

The number outside of the hexagon die button indicates the total number of that die to be rolled.

Both of these can be changed and edited at the table.

How do I use Buffs on my sheet?

Click the Buff you would like to add to your dice roll at any point while you are setting up your Dice Pool.

Buffs can also be linked to Dice Rolls in the Sheet Builder so when clicked, they automatically add a dice pool on the same sheet. This can be learned in the Sheet Builder Guide.
